Remake of the 20 year-old PlayStation hack-and-slash/platformer. I had a lot of love for the original, as flawed as it was, but the developers clearly had tightened on the rose-tinted glasses, as no attempt is made to improve the faults whatsoever; if anything, they're even worse. Even the remade graphics and sound, while still retaining the gorgeous aesthetic, feel low-budget. A distressingly dire example of how not to remake a game.
