I got another TI-55, and this one works. This model was released in 1977, though this appears to be from late 1981. It was a budget scientific calculator and a continuation of the famous SR-51 line.
Amazingly, according to the seller, the original charge circuitry was still operating right up until today, with replaced batteries of course. I havent been able to repair the charge circuitry yet, so i cant use the power adapter or rechargeable cells. However, i was able to get the calculator working with a standard 9V. Also has the LED chasing effect when left idle, same as the TI programmer.
I did need to repaint this one as nearly all paint on the trim and lettering on the logo was gone when i got it.
