I was in the market for an extra “fake artist” brush for when my other ones have been deep cleaned...because the take FOREVER to dry!!! I saw this brush in a kit at 5 Below and thought I would give it a try. It is crazy soft and seems very well made! The handle feels a bit too thin and breakable...but my other “fake artist” brushes are the same way, so I can’t really complain. There looks like a small chunk of bristles never made it into the bottom of the brush because there is a small notch, but that doesn’t bother me at all and will not effect the performance of the brush. (The last picture shows a close up of the notch, but you can see it in the cover photo too.). As for the performance, it is not as good as my other brushes. 😔. It is almost to soft and too thick and it has trouble blending. It either blends the foundation away or it doesn’t blend at all...there is no in between. I can get a decent look if I blend a ton, but then I need to add a second coat of foundation to get the coverage I really want. The foundation can look patchy with spots that have a lot of foundation and other places were there is hardly any at all. This brush is a bit of work...but it will do the job I bought it for just fine. I only expect to use this on deep-clean days. But don’t judge the performance of all “artist” brushes based on this particular one!
The set that it came in also came with a brush cleaner and a hand-held scrubbing mat that I reviewed separately.
