Serving as a Finnish sniper during the Winter War, he was given the nicknamed "White Death" by the Red Army. Using a Finnish-produced M/28-30 rifle and a Suomi KP/-31, he reportedly killed 505 to 542 men during the Winter War, the highest recorded number of sniper kills in any major war. Häyhä estimated in his diary he killed more than five hundred Red Army soldiers in the Winter War
He was awarded the Cross of Liberty, 3rd class and 4th class and Medal of Liberty, 1st class and 2nd class

Bullet pierces it's target will immediately freeze regardless the temperature; this ability also enable invisibility only in heavy snow environment
