The dial I used for this project. From an old Russian Wostok junk watch. Had to make some modifications to make this one work.

Cordura green by Watchgecko on my old friend Glycine combat Sub I really liked the cordura straps especially with this quality. Back of the strap is leather covered , that makes it very comfortable but not the best choice for warm weather

I Wanted To Share This Tool Because It Came In Very Handy When I was Perfecting The Bezel Mod On My Turtle. The 1st Replacement Bezel Was "Out Of Round" And Mark From Long Island Watch Was Awesome And Sent Me Another One Right Away. The 2nd One Went On Without Any Trouble. In The Interim, I Had To Buy This Bezel Remover Because Of How Incredibly Tight The 1st One Was. Next Time I'll Put Tape On The Case To Avoid The Tiny Scratches Left By The Tool. Lesson Learned, But It's My Watch So Not A Big Deal. If It Were Someone Else's I'd Have Protected It For Sure.

Tuesday and my SKXmMM mod. These paratrooper straps by Cheapestnatostraps aren't too shabby for under $10.
My SKXminiMM modded SKX013 on Watch Steward Au Naturel strap.. it's still summer and hot as hell where I'm at, this certainly works.
Ok, I've taken some proper photos this time for a proper introduction to my latest Custom Seiko Mod, the "Polar SKXmMM" Mod. Perhaps a little long, but it was originally "PolarSKX013mMMBBSEP2" mod, lol. So, I'd say shortened enough. FYI, the name means "Polar SKXminiMarineMaster"... because mm200 and babyMM are already taken by those SCDC06Xs. I wanted to challenge myself to make a nice SKX013 mod. I've done plenty of the fuller sized SKX007/009s. There certainly are a lot fewer aftermarket parts for the SKX013. It's been betting a little better of late, but I still have to be discerning about my particular parts picks to make it the way I really wanted to. I wanted to try to make a more discreetly sized dive watch in 38mm for my 6.875" wrist. The design concepts I wanted to incorporate were an SKX based case with Rolex Polar Explorer 2 with Red GMT Hand (ref 16570) with Seiko Marine Master 300 with Tudor Black Bay Steel. And, all with my own spin on the amalgamation of designs. As such, I would point out where these design cues appear on this watch mod. - SKX - Well, isn't it obvious? But, I wanted to maintain the day/date complication on the dial - Rolex Polar Explorer 2 (16570) - The polar white dial with matching round and baton applied indices and minute markings around and on the dial itself. Black handset. Stainless steel bezel with black numbers and markings. The second hand in this watch is a combination of the Rolex's small lollipop counter-balance end of the second hand, the red arm and black triangle of the GMT hand. The bright blue tip of the second hand is just an accent color I wanted to throw in because I like red and blue accent colors. - Tudor Black Bay Steel - The stainless steel bezel insert - Seiko Marine Master 300 - The dial, mainly the 12 o'clock applied "chevron" index. For this, I had to cross mix parts from 2 Namoki custom dials to make my own custom polar dial.. it really is a mix of MM300 and Submariner style.. plus, the day/date window of an SKX. The MM300 style handset (but they are in black for the polar e2 reference). You may also notice I have a mix of lume colors used. The dial is C3. The pip in the bezel insert is BGW9. The DLW mix & match handset from DLW are originally a special mix of C1 superluminova DLW uses. So, it glows green like the C3, just slightly a little less green in intensity. I felt that maybe the glow intensity and longevity of the hands might be less than the dial's lumed indices. So, I added my own blue watch lume paint to the backside of the handset. My intended goal was to increase the handset lume glow intensity as well as longevity. Additionally, I was hoping may it might tint the handset glow to be on the slightly blue side. It didn't exactly do that for the color. But, if you'll notice closely in the lume shots, the hands look like they glow green on the front side, but the glow effect bouncing/reflecting off the white dial is blue. To maintain external components with blue lume such as the pip in the stainless steel bezel insert, I filled in the Crystal Times signed "S" crown with blue watch paint lume as well. I feel this is also one of my mod signatures whenever there is a signed crown to be had, I will likely fit it with blue lume paint. Overall, lume-wise, I think I've managed to tie the green and blue lume color theme together pretty well, actually. Lastly, I like my dive watches on bracelets most of the time, so I had to initially present this on a bracelet. But, I didn't want to stick with the stock jubilee. And, an upgraded oyster or jubilee option from StrapCode wasn't special enough. I believe Uncle Seiko makes a Beads Of Rice bracelet for the SKX013, but it didn't match to me. I did finally manage to find, mostly by chance, a president style bracelet that would fit the SKX013. That looked good and I don't believe I've ever seen anyone else have a president style bracelet on an SKX013 before. It's not the best quality, but it actually does fit tightly in the lugs, has solid links, and even a Seiko signed clasp. I will have a wrap-up project video on my YouTube channel soon, so be on the lookout for that to get the full scoop and review on this watch. Sourced parts used listed below: Seiko: SKX013K2 Lucius Atelier: SS Brushed Rehaut/Chapter Ring, SS Bezel Insert Crystal Times: SKX013 Signed Crown with a pre-cut crown stem (I custom filled "S" with blue watch lume paint) Yobokies: SS Coin Edge Bezel (I custom brushed out the high-polish finish to tone it down and provide better grip) Namoki: Dial (needed 2 different styles to mix parts to make my own custom dial) Ebay: SKX013 President Style Solid SS Link Bracelet, NH36A Movement DLW: Mix & Match Handset H & M Black MM300, S Black Blades (I custom painted red & lt blue enamel paint on second hand, & custom painted blue watch lume paint to back/underside of existing lume paint) And, that's all folks!
Nearly completed, I have a couple more tweaks to do before officially saying it is done. But, here are the latest work in progress pics of my SKX013 mod, currently named the "Polar SKXmMM" mod.
Success!! Now I have two working James Bond Moonraker Watches. I used one module to build the other (check shelf for illustration if needed)
